Alison Dunn
Born in Eastbourne, Sussex in 1925. Married Alastair Dunn in 1953 and moved to Clydebank, then to Aultbea near Gairloch. In the summer of 1965 moved to the Cromarty Sutor with Alastair and 6 children, living temporarily in one of the ex-army buildings there whilst looking for a suitable house in Cromarty. In 1966 moved to Seabank House on Shore Street, and opened the pottery and shop there. Retired from pottery in 1992-93 though still dabbles. Since living on the Sutor, and afterwords in Cromarty, she took periodic photographs of the area, using many as source material for watercolour paintings exhibited over nearly 30 years as part of the Cromarty Group of which she was a founder member.
