Can any 'son of the sea' tell me when a wreck marker (eg NATAL) changed from Green, to the current Red? External appearance also suggests solar power now for the light, as distinct from liquid gas previously? Over to you Ronald! Comment left on 15 March 2005 at 10:32 by Clem Watson
Hi Clem. According to my source, (Capt Ian Dunderdale). The buoy was changed over in 1976-77 to a black and red Isolated Danger Mark. Not too sure when the solar panels were fitted but it must have been before 1988 cause I used to pass it every day back then and it had its panels at that time.
