16 Forsyth Place in 1992

This picture shows the old, small cottage which stood at 16 Forsyth Place up until the mid 90's when it was completely re-built. Note the extremely high chimney and the wonderful green colour of the exterior walls.

This house was bought by Colin Mackenzie, local Mason Contractor, father of Babs, when he bought Struy House approx. 1923. Kenny Maclean lived there in the 1950's and Jean Young was very good at visiting and helping the old man. Then Margaret Mackenzie, Colin's sister moved there in the late 1950's and at that time the house had a very small kitchen, a toilet, a small sitting-room with a single bed at the window and upstairs was a small attic space. When Margaret died, late 60's, the house went to Colin Mackenzie her nephew in Glasgow who later sold the house.
