Thank you Mrs Gordon for another piece of pictorial local history! I remember Bella Dhu and Mary Guite working on the beach at low tide, with a 'hyook' to pull out lobsters, and pink crabs (kyes), from under the boulders over the stretch below Rosefarm to Neilston. Their dress was similar to this photo.

Fishwives from Cromarty, dressed like this, would also travel to Dingwall to sell fish at the Town Hall stance, in the 1930's.
