Good to see this building being restored. The builder has made an excellent job of the
tabling at the wallhead. I remember the house prior to the fire, as it was on my daily
route to school. I also remember some smaller cottages within the garden wall, are they
likely to be restored?

Just noticed after sending previous comment.
Barklay? Barkley? Gilbert's spelling was BARKLY according to British Linen Company records.
however in the mid 1700's many spelt phonetically anyway. Barkly Street name plate, have a
look!

Typo on my part Clem - I've changed it to Barklay, which seems to the one most accepted these days. Comment left on 10 April 2005 at 15:37 by Calum Davidson
I wonder what that anomalous object is in the sky above the house? Maybe Calum can enlighten me? Comment left on 12 April 2005 at 19:09 by Jeanne Mackay (daughter of Christina Duncan)
The object on the left is a seagull, and on the right Mary and Dave Ross's TV arial. Comment left on 12 April 2005 at 21:28 by Calum Davidson
