The Ailsa at end of harbour

The Ailsa at end of harbour

Date Added: 01 January 2003 Contributor: Unknown Year: 1930 Picture No: 130

Picture showing the Aisla tied up at the end of the harbour. Interestingly, you can see the funnel of the Disperser in the background. The SSS on the funnel stands for the South Stockton Shipbreaking company. The smaller boat next to the Ailsa is the Iris, used as the Cromarty to Nigg Ferry between 1937 and 1938.

The year of this image can't be 1930. The Disperser didn't arrive till 1937, and left in 1939. Comment left on 02 June 2013 at 16:42 by Sandy Thomson
