Margaret, I used to take a shortcut through your aunty Mary and uncle Donnie`s garden sometimes when I was young. Can`t remember if I had permission, thought I was invisible or what! Comment left on 08 February 2006 at 22:16 by Dorothy Robertson
Dorothy everyone took a shortcut through Aunty Mary's garden or estate as Uncle Donnie called it, she didn't mind really as long as you stayed on the path, she had such a good nature. Comment left on 08 February 2006 at 22:54 by Margaret Cassie ( Clelland )
A beautiful shot of them both girls ...I always remember Mary and Donnie with great affection ...And Mary always playing piano at some dance or other function in the Victoria Hall ...When I was Back in 1975 ..I was glad I had a chance to see them both again !
I have a lovely shot of Mary and myself taken on that visit ..I must send it in if thats okay ?

It is not Mrs Ross - the lady was manageress in the hotel . Comment left on 09 February 2006 at 09:49 by ANON
If I remember correctly the lady was called Mrs Bruce. She was manageress in Cromarty hotel for sometime and when I got married in 1971 she was then manageress in the National Hotel in Dingwall.

Good to see a young dashing Duncan Macpherson in the middle of the photo, didn't realise he was so long part of our Cromarty scene! Duncan, thank you for all your kindness and help to me during your term as Convener of Highland Regional Council, your contribution to the wellbeing of those in the Ross-shire area of Highlands should be eternally grateful. Seems a long time since you were the 'Ace of the Base' ! With Vampire 5's in the Log Book, 4249114 Cpl Ex RAF ATC (Retd.) Comment left on 10 February 2006 at 23:49 by Clem Watson

Great to see my Mam and Dad on the Web. They would have loved to have seen it. Thanks. Comment left on 20 March 2006 at 22:40 by Evelyn Nicholson (nee Munro)
Just before Dad (Donnie Munro) left Ramsgate for a holiday up North, he told everyone in The Northwood Club that he was going up to settle his Estate. Some people actually believed him. Comment left on 20 March 2006 at 22:48 by Evelyn Nicholson (nee Munro)
Evelyn, I couldn't help but laugh when I saw your comment, that was Uncle Donnie to a tee, we'd be sitting having a cup of tea and up he'd get and say well I must have a stroll round the Estate. He didn't half make us laugh. Comment left on 21 March 2006 at 22:36 by Margaret Cassie ( Clelland )
