This view looks nothing like it did bank in June 2005-BUT IS VERY BEAUTIFUL! I AM RESEARCHING THE Ross family- so the church was of great interest. Comment left on 17 March 2006 at 04:44 by Jeanette Moore
I just saw on the BBC News website that the East Church has been chosen for an appeal in the next series of Restoration. Fantastic news - even if it doesn't win, surely the publicity will attract much needed funds for whatever works need doing? I was christened in the East Church in June 1973 by Rev. Ewing, so no guesses which building I'll be voting for this year! (see picture #1690) Comment left on 10 July 2006 at 12:37 by Kirsten Fleetwood (nee Garratt)
Likewise, I was baptised in the East Church in July 1953 by Rev R.Alston, visting from Nigg Parish (David Alston's father). My mother tells me Albert Watson brought him across on the ferry as a stand in at short notice. It will be getting my vote too. Comment left on 10 July 2006 at 21:29 by Arthur Bird
What a boost for Cromarty! I remember years ago, the Rev Robert Galloway giving my class a tour of the East Church. It was fascinating! I was also there for Leona Winton's christening. It was a lovely setting. Comment left on 12 July 2006 at 22:31 by Rona Thomson (aka Miss Beaton)
