Hi! I would just like to say that I worked at High Fab 74-75 with four my brothers I was only 20/21 {my birthday is in december} and it was my first job away from home and it was a fantastic time, and what lovely people around the area, if I won the lottery I could never have a time like we had at Nigg. Hello from Cardiff. Comment left on 12 March 2009 at 15:43 by John Jones
Hi! John Jones again I just realised!, looking at this picture again this cannot be highland 1 as it was floated in 1974 and as previously stated I worked at Nigg 74/75 and that was on highland 2, and when highland 1 was being built there were 2 ships at the end of the pier, I cannot remember the other ones name, If anyone knows of another site about Nigg in it's heyday? can they please let me know, [email protected] Comment left on 17 March 2009 at 11:38 by John Jones

I worked on Highlands 2 as a welder in 1976-77 for 11 months. Lived in the camp and Invergordon. Have written a selection of rhymes & parodies about my time at Hifab. Comment left on 02 July 2012 at 15:00 by Bill Pearson aka Will Scribble
I think you have your years a bit mixed, Bill. Highland 2 was floated in 75, there is a video about how it was 7 weeks ahead of schedule on a site called scotlandonscreen.org.uk. I hope you enjoy it. Comment left on 04 July 2012 at 12:32 by John Jones
