Aerial view of the town from the West

Date Added: 01 January 2003 Contributor: Shirley Shepherd Year: 1902 Picture No: 167

This view of the town is taken from a high vantage point to the West of the town. It also shows Nigg in the background. It's taken from a postcard sent to a 'Mrs Muirhead' on the Isle of Man - anyone know who she might have been?

This is very interesting to me. I think the Council houses were built around 1937? I remember Granny referring to the triangular piece of land in the middle of the photo as the 'Craftie.' Comment left on 06 April 2004 at 18:27 by Margaret Tong (Cowie)
