At long last I have visited Jemimaville after 24 years. I was particularly pleased to visit my childhood home [now totally transformed], grateful thanks to Erica for allowing me to see it. We had a very pleasant lunch on a bench opposite the Royal Hotel in Cromarty courtesy of Cromarty Bakery and liquid refreshment courtesy of Royal Hotel in the very lovely sunshine. We had a wander round the harbour and Shore St visiting the shops on the way. I didn't think Cromarty had changed all that much [thankfully]. We visited Image Library and spoke to Garve who was very welcoming. I hope it wont be over 20 years before my next visit Lang May your Lums Reek Cromarty. I hope you're able to go back to Jemimaville often, Mary.
I'm glad your trip went so well

Yes it was very nice to be back. It's a wee bit strange, though, Jemimaville looked very small a bit like Lilliput but largely little had changed, only the people. I knew very few inhabitants. But I do hope to return asap. Comment left on 16 May 2011 at 22:03 by Mary Mackay now Tomlinson Harrison
Never known "The Village" bathed in such brilliant sunshine. Every time I go home to Cromarty it's always raining. Even filling up at Hughie's garage it's raining. Seriously though this is a beautiful photograph, and captures perfectly the image of my homeland the lovely Black Isle Comment left on 17 May 2011 at 23:19 by Anon
Well thankfully on my visit home there wasnt a drop of rain brilliant sunshine all 3 1/2 days and warm 20-21 deg. Visited a friend at Whitebog Farm[sadly not in] and the road up to the farm was so dry my car was covered in dust, washed it at Hugh Scotts Jet Wash for £1 cant get a deal like that in England Lovely Black Isle Indeed. Very happy memories of the village as we called it.
I have often seen it as in the photograph.
