Alastair Dunn in costume at the Courthouse

This shows Alastair wearing period costume whilst working at the Courthouse Museum, shortly after retiring from 17 years as peripatetic art teacher at primary schools across the Black Isle.

Sadly, Alastair died on 13th February 2007 after a short illness.

What an excellent photo of Alastair. This outfit certainly suited him a lot better than the custard yellow sweatshirts the Courthouse staff wore at one time! It's hard to imagine a Cromarty without Alison and Alastair. Apart from making beautiful and distinctive pottery they were welcoming, generous and entertaining people. I'm sitting here smiling as I remember some of Alastair's stories about the family hearse.
