The Harbour, Cromarty, c1905??

I can't find this image anywhere else on the site. It shows a young boy leaning on the bollard in the foreground. There's a crowd on the Parapet wall with a lifering and some fishing nets behind them. Vertical timber fenders are attached to the inside of the parapet wall. A long, unusually shaped vessel is moored in the channel.

Judging by the amount of large vessels sitting out in the firth, I'd guess that this picture could be around World War I era, when the firth was used to repair the fleet.

Upon investigation, the Copyright Cy 22 in the bottom left corner, places the picture in Calendar Year 22, which may mean 1922.

Is the long vessel a royal/admiralty yacht? possibly "Enchantress" which took Churchill on a visit to the fleet in 1913? Comment left on 24 April 2007 at 17:15 by Anon
