All harbour views from this angle were taken from the right hand attic window of my parents former home at Frithview (note 'Frith' spelling, this is an old form of Scots, used on maps and place names) Early Titles of Frithview show Hugh Miller's signature, as a witness, when he was a Bank clerk around 1820's. This print is from one of the glass plates from the W J Smith Collection. This collection was gifted to my father by W J Smith's family. A number of photographs on this website, all taken around 1910, and mostly of the fleet or the burgh, are from this collection. Copyright of the collection is in my name, as trustee for my two sisters, my brother and myself. Comment left on 15 June 2004 at 00:02 by Campbell Ross
