Lonna's Christmas lights - another photo

Date Added: 14 December 2007 Contributor: Colin Dunn Year: 2007 Picture No: 2053

Lonna very generously left a bequest to provide Cromarty with Christmas Lights. The ones on the Victoria Hall haven't been finished yet, but if those on the harbour are anything to go by, the effect will be striking and very unusual. I've been told that the blue glow around the harbour is very eye catching as you come into the town from the shore road.

Frankly I'm not a fan of floodlights, as they are all too often aimed very badly and create horrible dazzle (especially around houses), but these have been correctly fitted pointing downwards and the effect is stunning.

Thanks Lonna.

I think Lonna would have been very pleased with the lights. I think they're great and congratulate those who made it happen.
