Sandy Merrie Hardie was my 2nd cousin, whom my father often talked about but I never met. I love this painting, and as I have only recently discovered he was a painter after he retired to Cromarty, I would love to see more of his work online. As I am now in my seventies, I am unable to visit Cromarty.

I have a Sandy Hardie oil painting of Cromarty harbour which he gave to my brother. Sandy and Phyllis were family friends, from spending holidays together there in the 70's, with my parents. It is lovely to see another of his pictures. Comment left on 08 February 2011 at 22:24 by Mary Simpson, Nottingham

I used to holiday in Cromarty with my parents in the 60s and 70s, and spent many hours with Sandie and Phyllis Hardie. We stayed briefly with them in Bristol too. I have a painting of the harbour which he gave to my brother who has since died. I have many happy memories of the Royal Hotel, the harbour, the North Sutor etc. Also spent many hours playing tennis. Does anybody else remember them? Comment left on 14 August 2012 at 20:19 by Mary Simpson
