I recognise Gladys Shepherd 2nd from right back row, next to Maimie? Is that Mona Mackenzie 1st left front and Eva Macdonald next to her? Any more pics Gladys? Hope you are well. Comment left on 14 August 2008 at 21:48 by Dorothy Ewen (Robertson)
I'm sure that photo is earlier than 1958. Comment left on 14 August 2008 at 23:00 by Margaret
I`m sure it is earlier than 1958 as well, because I would have been 9 yrs old then.Got to be more than 50yrs ago! Comment left on 15 August 2008 at 20:23 by Dorothy Ewen (Robertson)
Gladys ...I think that is Freda my sister second from left front row ( not my Mother Eva ) Comment left on 21 August 2008 at 01:19 by John Macdonald
According to Gladys's bio, she was born in Hull in 1939.

I am sure she would have left school before 1958. I'd guess this photo is around 1948.

Nice to read your recent comments Gladys. You must have a few more photos of the 'school days' so look them out and get them posted on the site. It"s nice to look back but apart from yourself, Allison and Margaret I've never met anyone from the photo since those days Comment left on 22 February 2010 at 22:06 by Alex Grant
October hols was tattie picking time, we loved going to Navity - the crack was great between Alastair Shepherd, Earnie Eastwood, Geordie Morrison and the older tatties pickers. The mornings were cold (7a.m.) sitting on the back of an open trailer, but there was always laughter - we were poor but happy. One morning Freda and I were sitting at the rear of the trailer, legs dangling over the edge and laughing our heads off about something or other. Suddenly the gears changed as the tractor crept up the Denny and to everyones horror threw poor Freda on to the road. It was one of the most scarey moments of our young lives and especially for Freda. No risk assesments carried out in those days, or H&S Regs. Fortunately I don't think the accident was too serious and Freda made a good recovery. Comment left on 24 February 2010 at 12:34 by Bertie Macdonald
