I think the third row down, third girl from the left is Rhona Couper who lived in Denoon Villa. She married William Mackay also from Cromarty and had three children, Ann, Donald and Ross.

This is one of the best photos I've ever seen on this site. For its time, the quality of the photo is excellent.
I assume this would have been a photo of all the pupils at the school.
I hope everyone in the photo can be identified.
I note that the all of the pupils look well dressed and are wearing shoes or boot. In later school photos some pupils have no shoes.

Well done James Barr. An excellent photograph and apparently in very good order. Let the identifications continue: Rhona Garratt has correctly identified her namesake, and the girl with wistful expression, 3rd. from left, 4th. row, her hand resting on the shoulder of the girl in front is Chrissie Couper, Rhona's sister. Chrissie married Donald John Matheson, in Cromarty, just before the 2nd World War. They had three children, Ranald, Iain & Susan.

I thought that was Auntie Chrissie. Wasn't she beautiful.

Could anyone tell me if there is a Grace Macleod in this picture? She was born in 1909 in Cromarty and would have around 9 years old. She left for America in 1930 and all I can ascertain is that she died in Santa Barbara in 1995. Her father was from Lewis and my great-uncle.

Could anyone tell me if Mary or Harry Bentley are in this picture. They were my 1st cousin on my mother's side (Christina Hogg, Teenie) ?
