Where was the shop? I can't picture it at all, or has the facade changed? Loving the Terry's All Gold boxes in the windows - weren't they the height of luxury in the 70s?! Comment left on 03 December 2008 at 14:31 by Kirsten Fleetwood (nee Garratt)
It's Tunney's? Comment left on 04 December 2008 at 07:33 by Margaret Tong
The shop is on the corner of High Street and Bank Street - it used to be Eva's shop many years ago. Comment left on 04 December 2008 at 19:46 by Rhona Garratt
Was there a model boat in the window after it was a shop but before it was a house? Comment left on 05 December 2008 at 01:34 by I Hill
Yes Isla Roddy use to keep some of the model boats he made himself there until somebody smashed the window one night. Luckily none of the boats were damaged. It still is a shop it just isnt used as one anymore and the windows usually get used for displays when there are local events on. Comment left on 05 December 2008 at 10:20 by Ronald Young
When I was back in Cromarty in June 2006 it was nice to see the old shop my Mum and Dad had in the 60s. It wasn't operating as a shop when I was back, but it was still good to see the old place. Comment left on 19 December 2008 at 12:33 by John Macdonald
Nothing to do with this picture really, but can anyone remember KELLYS shop, it was round where the bus used to start near the old picture house, I used to love going into that shop when I was a child. Comment left on 24 February 2009 at 21:32 by Alice Anne Kidd (nee Wade)
Couldn't you get a cup of tea at Kelly's? I seem to remember my mother getting a cup of tea there and I got ice-cream - am I right about this? Comment left on 26 February 2009 at 20:26 by Mary Mackay now Tomlinson Harrison
It later was run by Miss Dunnet and her family as I helped them in an evening. Comment left on 22 June 2017 at 12:27 by George E Gilmour
I used to spend my summers in Cromarty around this time. My memory may be incorrect, but this sweetie shop closed in the mid 70's when the owner decided to go and work at the Nigg Bay Oil Rig building yard instead. After that, I think the best shop to visit for sweeties and papers was on Church street. Comment left on 20 October 2020 by (William) Douglas Bain
