The Shop on the left later on in the 50/60's I remember as David Mackenzie's Hardware shop. I wonder what kind of business it was in this picture - local food store/provisions maybe ?

I remember the hardware shop being known as D. R's. I've still got a teapot and a saucepan I bought there some years ago.
