Sadly this picture is badly faded. The sailing ship on the right appears on later photographs of the harbour so must have been a familiar sight for some years. The date is derived from the caption on the bottom but I suspect it may be later as it would appear that part of the fleet is captured in the background.

Sailing ship on right is Bonnie Lass. My Great Grandfathers vessel.

If this is 1890, my 3rd great grandfather William may have been Cromarty harbourmaster at the time. Very surprised to find this. I may pretend that's him in the picture.
