My mother says the Saga was the ferry before the Ailsa.

My Great Grandfather, James Bain was the master of the Invergordon - Cromarty Ferry. I`m pretty certain he lived at 4 Bank Street. My Grandmother, Isabella Cummings Bain said he had a window installed so that he could look out at the sea. He drowned in the harbour during the war, when he went to check that a friends boat was securely tied up.
