I think the netting you are seeing is in fact just the texture of the photo paper. As to the buildings, I had a look at them today and the left two in the photo look just like the ones on the Cromarty harbour. However, there is a third building shown here which certainly isn't on the harbour now. Was there a third building in 1964? Comment left on 17 November 2011 at 14:56 by Colin Dunn

Colin this is strange. picture #1658 shows a very similar shot at the end of the cine clip as the lady walks along the harbour. Both shots are dated 1964. The two sheds on the left of picture are just in shot, but the third shed on the right is not there, also in this shot it looks as if it would have to be on the other side of the "V" to be in perspective.

Also there is a cargo hoist and surround in the cine shot. It does support the "This not Cromarty" argument.

This is a photo of Cromarty harbour, but definitely NOT the RN pinnace that took the Queen there in 1964. Have a look at my contribution of the 1964 arrival, past the lifeboat which was on the pinnace' PORT side. Billy Bathie and Ronnie Winton, are in the corner. This seems to be a Regatta day, or even the launching day of Highland One, when we had the odd visit from other RN craft. The Queen's craft had varnished deck & cabin. Hi Iris, that is the harbour, and that's John (tourie) Patience on the Queen o Scots, as far as I can remember she came here in the early 70s. Is the woman above John on harbour Violet Walters? Queen o Scots was used by Fred Newton from around 1974 to about 1976 when she was replaced by Souters Lass. The other vessel is from the Royal Yacht Britania.
