Taken in 1926, this photograph is interesting because several children are without footware.

Middle Row: Hugh Skinner, Terence McAleer, Mary Isaacson, Isa MacLeod, ????? Stewart, Isabel Muir, Emily Taylor, ???? Scott, Donald MacSween
Front Row: Anne Skinner, Chrissie Hogg, Violet Gape, Mary Scott, Cathie Clark, Kathleen Whiteman

In the middle row, third right, is my older sister Emily Taylor aged eight who lived at 5 Duke Street. These were obviously hard times as can be seen by several of the children without footware, nevertheless they all looked happy enough when this picture was taken. Sadly Emily died in 1945 when I was only seven.

I think Isa Macleod, Isabel Muir and Cathie Clark appear on a later picture of Jessie Reid Classmates 1929.
Can anyone confirm this as there is a difference in the name spelling?

Jean, when my brother Peter went through the Classmates picture with Mother he wrote down the names, the difference in spelling is accounted for in his spelling and naming convention, these are the same people, blame Peter! The phonetics are correct.

The very tall boy in the back row MAY be my uncle DONALD WATSON who lived at 3/5 Braehead. He was born in 1921 and attended Cromarty School for a year or so. My family left Cromarty in 1927.

A teacher at the time was Annie Linklater. She taught there for 40 years retiring on 11 July 1928.
I obtained this from the Cromarty School Admission Register of 1928.

Kathleen Whiteman (watson) is my mother
