Reharling of No.7 Braehead
No.7 Braehead is currently being reharled by James Jack. Removing the old harling has revealed a doorway in the street-side gable, and what looks like another window on the back. The gable doorway is presumed to be the original shop entrance when the house was occupied by Kenneth Kemp, Tailor. There's a stone plaque decorated with a pair of scissors above the house's main door commemorating this fact.

I remember the gable being harled in 1950s by Cathel Mackenzie. Two men were working at the top and the wooden scaffold collapsed. I saw it happen as I was going to school at the time. One of the men was Donnie Robertson. They were very lucky.

Davey thank you for that. We were wondering when it was last reharled. There were signs of a number of patches on the side walls.
