Bobby Hogg, 6th from the left in the back row, and Helen Couper, directly in front of him, have now been married for well over 50 years. They have two children and seven grandchildren, and are as healthy and happy as you could wish for a couple of octogenarians! Comment left on 06 May 2003 by Kirsten Garratt
Middle row, fourth from the left is Christina Macfarlane. Known to everyone as 'Ena' she went on to marry Evan Ferguson (Evan the Post) and live in Duke Street. Comment left on 24 May 2003 by Moira Liddle
Sandy Russell came into town yesterday looking up old school friends. He told me that he used to live at number 60 Church Street. He's very fit and well and hopefully, is going to send me some photos of his family and the Eastwood family next door (four brothers and two sisters?) at number 62 (my house) from around 1938. I'll publish these on the library if he finds them. Comment left on 31 July 2003 by David Newman
George Eastwood and Nancy Skinner (my parents) were married in 1945. With my two brothers, Arnold and Ronald and my granny Isabel Skinner we all moved from Cromarty to Edinburgh in 1962. Comment left on 23 August 2003 by Evelyn McNaughton
Miss Barclay became Mrs Mason and lived for many years in Wellington House with her husband Ernie. Peter Gilmour who used to do gardening jobs, accompanied by his dog Tara, said she was the most caring teacher he ever met. Her grave is in the middle churchyard to the left of the central path. A book, 'September Joy' was written about her and her life in Cromarty. Comment left on 06 December 2003 by Ann Hill

Hey Elaine .... this is Emma - would be great to hear from you ..... how are the kids and your mam doing?????? Comment left on 29 November 2004 at 04:59 by Emma-Jane Woodward (Pendle)
In the middle row, sixth from the right is my late aunt, Betty Fraser. Third from the right, sitting on the ground at the front, is my late father, Donald (Dondo) Fraser. She was born in 1920, and he in 1922, so they should be 15 and 13 respectively in this picture (of which I already have a copy). Comment left on 16 February 2005 at 00:49 by ALAN FRASER
My father, Alastair Inglis, who sadly died in 1974, is the far right figure in the back row.

I believe the young girl on the right of the Headmaster is Gladys Watson. She had brothers Jim and Thomas and a sister Ethel who stayed in Cromarty and married Bill House and there daughter Elaine married Charlie McIvor and still live in the town. Eric thank you SO VERY MUCH for contributing this picture showing my Uncle David Bremner and my Father James Bremner (both on the front row ends). is it possible to get a copy of this picture from the original? (my e-mail [email protected]) I would be very happy to pay. Comment left on 31 May 2012 at 12:35 by James A Bremner
Hello. My Mother, Jane Watson, went to school with Nancy Skinner and George Eastwood and they kept in touch for many years and I remember sending christmas cards to them and Evelyn. My mother is still living close to me in Yorkshire if Evelyn would like to make contact. She is 92. I assume from other entries that Eric Malcolm is also still living. Last time i went to cromarty in 2010 I tried to contact Betty Hogg. Wonder if she or nancy are still living? Comment left on 02 February 2013 at 21:33 by Jill Molyneux (Webster)
My mother, Maisie (Mary) Fraser, is in the centre, middle row, of the picture. She is now 92 and living in Edinburgh - married name Hawkins. Maisie lived in Cromarty with her younger sister, Isabelle, their mother, Mary, and father James who was the lighthouse keeper. Anyone wishing to contact Maisie, please email me. Maisie doesn't use email very much now, but enjoys seeing her great granddaughter on skype. Comment left on 13 February 2013 at 13:35 by Margaret Thomas
Miss Jean Sinclair (middle row on the far left) married a cousin of my grandfather's, Alistair Robertson. They later moved to Kenya. If anyone has any recollections of this couple, please contact me. Many thanks. Comment left on 21 May 2016 at 22:35 by Alison Watt
Our mother Babs (Mackenzie) Mackay was in this class and was taken out at age 14 to take over her mother's shop ( by her father as her mother was ill) She made a success of this business until she retired in 1984 aged 65 years.
