Dolphins off Eathie beach - 1997

The Moray Firth dolpins can often be seen from Cromarty and Rosemarkie. Unfortunately, over the last few years the number of dolphins visiting the area has been in decline. Though no-one is quite sure, there are fears that the increased numbers of rigs moored in the area, and the increase in shipping, may be forcing the animals to move elsewhere. Another reason may be the decline in fish stocks, especially Sea Trout and Salmons which are now much rarer, due possibly to Scandinavian overfishing in their breeding grounds off the coast of Greenland.
