Strange Paving on the links

Strange Paving on the links

Date Added: 04 September 2003 Contributor: Colin Dunn Year: 2003 Picture No: 476

Work started today on peparing the Links in front of the school as a fenced play area. Ploughing the ground to clear boulders and stones revealed this strange area of paving, which consists of carefully laid out bricks and sandstone. Anyone know what this is?

The Polish soldiers used to create decorative paving, sometimes showing the Union Jack and Polish Flag crossed. They often used shells, glass and pebbles. Comment left on 29 September 2003 by Clem Watson
