The blue plaque dedicated to Dr Thomson was placed on the wall of Mackenzie's Ironmongers / Binnie's teashop in 1983. This picture shows a piper and onlookers standing in front of Ken Darby's jewellers, later another teashop.

On the extreme right is Lila Hepburn, in the white behind the piper is Jenny Sim, Alan Macdonald is with his granny Betty at the pillar box and Douglas Matheson with his wife third left.
