I remember Mr Ross and his family. Where are they now does anyone know? I used to get my photos developed at this shop. Just across the road was Jock McBain's house he was the milkman for as long as I can remember. He had his pony called Patsy, she pulled the milkcart round the town for years. Gracie Grant was the milkmaid who took the cart round with Patsy pony leading the way. She knew every door she never passed without letting you know she was there, she would stamp her hoofs and neigh till you came out with her bit apple or a sugar lump. Gracie would have a wee dram too keep her going. Gracie is still with us but hung up their boots after many years of service. What dedication they don't make them like that any more out in all weather making sure we had milk for the porridge and the teas. Comment left on 05 May 2008 at 16:30 by Dorothy Shephepherd
