One of the small streets in the Fishertown. Note the Crowstep gable on the cottage at the right of the picture, a feature which can still be seen on a number of houses in the town.

crow steps or craw steps as some Scots know them as are the set of projecting steps on the gables of the roofs of old houses.

I believe that my Great Grandmother, Christina Reid, lived in No. 5 Gordon's Lane at the end of the 19th Century. Are there any descendants of her family living in Cromarty now?
