It's not Jane Macaulay, it is her sister Shelia. Jane was in my class. We just started in 1958. Raymond's second name Maclean.

That only leaves the girl far left front row - as far as I can remember herself and her family only stayed in Cromarty for a short while?

It was't Janet Ewen Her name is Irene Ewen and it's not Barbara Mackay it's Jane Mackay but I can't for the life of me think of the name of the girl at the end of the front row at the left.

This was the Primary Seven class 1959-60 (teacher was Jessie Munro) Girl on left only lived in Cromarty for less than one year and was called Mary? In reply to John (26/8/03) Sheila, Margaret, Jeanette, John Clelland, Irene and myself (Jane) live in the Black Isle area, Dorothy in Inverness and Gillian is in Forres.

I can't remember any of the faces, but some of the names are familiar to me. When I went to school in Cromarty John Rae was headmaster, Miss Patience taught RE, Miss McKay used to run the library in the evenings, and so on.

I think this photograph was taken the day of the `Quali` i.e qualifying exam, later known as the eleven plus. Can anyone else remember?

The heading should be changed to 1960 as taken at the time of the Qualifying Exam 1960.
