The newer part of Dunskaith House burnt down in 1960 but the old house survived. It was used as a Post Office, shop and boarding kennels until it was demolished in about 1970 to make way for the Hifab yard. See pic 105 on the Tain Museum image library. Quite a few of these boats were still in use when my father was a child. He can recall the names "Chrisie Jane", "Mayflower", and "Thunderer". It would be nice to find out who these boats belonged to. Comment left on 11 May 2008 at 09:02 by Andrew Bathie
