Comments:
On the ground the Fishertown seems much more congested, one would think that more than 50% of the land is built-up, whereas the aerial view shows how it is. A splendid picture showing some of Cromarty's variety.
"Cromarty Image Library" is a well-devised and constructed site, those responsible are to be congratulated.

More than 50% of the land was built up! In the small aerial shot that this covers, 13 additional houses were in position 70 years ago! Some lost due to flooding, easterly gales, and general lack of maintenance. Conservation Planning Restrictions now, coupled to disinterested landlordism, past and present, demise of the fishing, and emigration, all have had their catalytic effect in the architectural decline. If today's Planners had the savoir faire of George Ross (1700-1764) ? Forget 'new towns' add sympathetically to what exists, retaining the character, and atmosphere of Cromarty, Don't fire the Planners, Fire them up!!!
