West Church from the Manse - c1908

This is a postcard published by Macpherson Brothers of Invergordon. It shows the West Church before the fire which led to the changes in the structure at the front. The southernmost Factory building which was knocked down to build the houses at the north of Allen Square can be seen.

I think this photo has been tinted after the event, rather like the horrible 'colorized' versions of old black and white films. Not uncommon with postcards of the period.

I have just found an identical postcard in my mother's (Jean Newell)collection, and the postmark is 30th May,1906, and, yes,it has been tinted.
