Hugh Watson (Mounteagle) and Evan Ferguson collecting the mail off the Invergordon ferry. They would wheel it up to the Post Office on the 'hurlie'.

This a superb photograph! Shows that in those days men took a pride in the job! Clean, well dressed, footwear polished. Even the hurlie's in good nick! Hughie got this hurlie latterly (after a new replacement with rubber tyres) to carry the outboard for his small boat to the harbour, then off to set his scanty! 20 hooks 20 flooks!

RMS Ailsa unloading in the background.

Im proud to have this photo - Hugh Watson was my Grandfather and I spent loads of holidays at Nount Eagle on Bank Street where he lived.
I remember McBeths sweet shop, Mr McBeth and his family
