Sorry Calum this ain't the pilot boat - it's "Lion" owened by John Ross, the car dealer from Kildary. A regular visitor to Cromarty harbour. The Cromarty Firth pilot boat has an orange topside and is called "Elma G"

John's boat still carries the Pilot sign on her though.

I think she used to be the pilot boat for the Firth of Forth or the Firth of Tay as he owned both their old boats at one time. The other was called "TIGER".

I've taken "Pilot Boat" out of the Title. I'll know next time ......

Hi Ronald, it was one of the Pilot boats for Forth Port Authority and was based at Leith.
