This is a very old picture of Sandilands House (now next to Victoria Hall). This shows the front of the property which is now to the rear of where the main road runs.

Is this Sandilands, the home of Rev Bernard Mackenzie. Can someone enlighten me as to the history of this property. Anyone have descendants who lived there?

Hi Cuz Lisa. If you refer to RCAHMS site - they confirm this was the house of Rev Bernard Mackenzie and is the earliest surviving house in Cromarty, circa 1694.
