To Chris Hart, Thank you for submitting this photograph, the boats were very much part of the social fabric of the town, where for years they brought in the Mail, plus nearly 80% of general cargo, Beer, meat, flour for the 2 bakeries!!
and many passengers. During the visits of the Home Fleet, both were used to carry visitors from the Invergordon piers to whichever Cruiser, Carrier, or Destroyer was open to the public. Competition was fierce, against some of the Invergordon boats, but our vessels had a Board of Trade Certificate, with safety rafts, and lifebelts, happy days indeed, fondly remembered.
