Cromarty Image Library Version 1
We first set the image library site up in 2003, writing the program from scratch. We thought it'd be a good way to show how the buildings in the town had changed over the years, but little did we know how successful it would become.
Firstly the pictures of the bus on fire encouraged lots of youngsters to start using the site, then we became inundated with school photos and pictures of events and family. Pictures have been sent from expat Croms as far away as Australia, and the website has helped lots of people to get in touch with old friends.
You can track the development of the Cromarty Image Library on the Wayback Machine.
See picture #2392 to see how version 2 worked.
