So there's to be "no splash and dash" this new year's day; so that it can be "refreshed and restructured" and to "provide an opportunity to develop the event format".
Well there's nothing to stop a few local hardy souls from running in to the sea any day they choose. Maybe that way, we can regain what started as a spontaneous bit of local madness; and prevent it becoming totally turned into a commercialised and over-promoted 'hogmanay designation'.
