Paye House in 2011

picture #2920 shows the same view from around a hundred years earlier. The shop door is still visible through the lime harling. Otherwise, the house is pretty much the same externally.

This built up door in Paye house,was re-opened for a short time as a Chip Shop, and operated by a Mrs Geddes, from somewhere in Aberdeen-shire. She had a son Freddy, who unfortunately had only one leg as the result of an accident. Freddy had very bright, natural, red hair. The family shut shop sometime in the late 1940's, early 50's.
