Taken on our second visit to Cromarty in May 2006. All of Foster Davidson's family were born in Australia. His mother Harriet Davidson nee Hindmarsh was born in Cromarty and worked as housekeeper to Colonel Ross at Cromarty House before moving to Skye where she was employed at Armadale Castle and later as housekeeper to Lord and Lady Currie at Scalpay House.
