Hi, I went to Peddieston during the 60's for all my primary schooling. I found the following from an extract of the Ordinary Gazeteer of Scotland:
In 1875-76 two new board schools were built at a cost of £6000 in the town and at Peddieston, 4¼ miles to the SW. With respective accommodation for 300 and 120 children. Comment left on 09 January 2016 at 12:48 by Doline Kilgour

Form Goes Here
I am curious, could this building also have served as a church in Peddieston in the early 1700's ? (Or has there ever been a church in Peddieston in this time frame?)
