Mrs Barwell in her shop
Date Added: 28 July 2003 Contributor: Scottish Field magazine Year: 1969 Picture No: 428
This picture is used with the kind permission of Scottish Field, which used it in their article 'Cromarty, the Forgotten Town' by G. Allan Little, in their March 1970 issue. Mrs Barwell (who lived in the house now owned by Bob MacKay on the Links) originally rented space from Alison and Alastair Dunn to open a small shop/office at the end of the little lane beside Seabank House. This is now where the Cromarty Pottery shop is. The pantiles visible through the window are on the roof of the pottery workshops.
