Clarke print of Cromarty

Date Added: 31 July 2003 Contributor: Unknown Year: 1800 Picture No: 441

This is a copy of the Clarke engraving produced around 1800? (I'm sure David Alston will be snorting with amusement and put me right). There's a certain amount of artistic license (the ruined wall in the foreground), but the view of the town and ships is very interesting. The engraving is also currently used in the Cromarty leaflet. A close up of the area around the town is shown on picture #442.

Hello. We have been fortunate to visit Cromarty and thoroughly enjoyed it. Would you know of a way we could purchase a copy of this print? We would like to frame and hang it over our mantle, if available. Thank you. Comment left on 20 December 2020 by Joe Renta
