There's a 'dent' in the harbour just around the corner from where these lifeboats are. I think it dates from the 50s? Anyone know what caused this? I believe that a large vessel ran into the harbour, but what the circumstances were I don't know. Comment left on 20 November 2003 by colin dunn
Think it was a dredger moored alongside the harbour that damaged it but i maybe wrong. I can remember one breaking loose it came up on the beach just outside my mum & dads house at 39 Bayview when I was young. Comment left on 29 November 2003 by Paul Shepherd
Having looked at this photo again, I 'd say it was the arrival day of Lilla Marras to Cromarty in 1955.
I identify myself, middle of trio, on the starboard side of L.M.

I think the damage was caused by some hopper barges that were anchored of the harbour and one broke loose. Comment left on 26 March 2006 at 17:07 by Ronald Young
The older lifeboat on the left is not thre James McFee but an older 45ft 0in single screw Watson from the Reserve fleet. Can you remember which boat she is Clem and what she was doing there? Presumably she was on passage. Comment left on 19 April 2006 at 13:06 by Tim Kirton
