From the archives of the Inverness Courier - 30th June 1859.
"The statue of the lamented Miller, by Mr Handyside Ritchie of Edinburge, has arrived here in safety by the Dundalk steamer. The statue is in two pieces, weighing together about three tons. Dr Macdonald having sent three of his powerful horses, the heavier part of the statue has been carried to the foot of the doric pillar designed to receive it. our French teacher, but getting close to the Summer hols., we got an easy time.
