My grandfather is Gilbert Magnus Urquhart (married to Edith Catherine Alcock) who I presume is Magnus Urquhart in the photo. My mother was Gillian Frances Urquhart, deceased 1997. Comment left on 01 October 2005 at 21:58 by Sheona Mitchell Rothwell
Thank you for the magical photo! I am John Charles Williams Ireland, a direct descendant of the Urquharts of Cromarty and an avid genealogist. My immigrant great-grandparents were James URQUHART Ireland and Janet "Jessie" Fenton of Dundee. James was named for his grandfather James URQUHART, husband of Margaret Smith of Inveresk. I have several lines of URQUHARTS with earliest greats back to William Urchard and Lillia Ross. I live in Chicago and send you my Windy City greetings. Your delightful photo reinforces why I love family history. I was in Scotland last in 2000 and hope to return soon! I teach third grade at Napavine Elementary School and have compiled a casual history of the community for use with my third graders. James Urquhart is mentioned in some of the clippings I have read. I am interested in stories of the Urquhart family at Napavine and any other early families of this community. Thanks. Comment left on 24 September 2008 at 04:27 by Dee Vice
