At this end of the compound the storm washed away almost all of the land which had been created during the dredging of the harbour a few months earlier. The granite boulders which mark the edge of the reclaimed land can be seen about 5 metres offshore.

Looking on the bright side, if this land hadn't been there we'd have lost some boats instead!
